My Experience taking History 2 In high school, history had not been my favorite nor best subject. I did not expect to be able to absorb the facts and dates easily. Thankfully, my professor does not believe in fact and date learning for non-history majors. Instead, she taught us the big picture ideas and concepts. Most importantly though, she taught us how events lead to other events. She painted a picture with United States history. I looked forward to her lectures. She was entertaining and I knew I would learn something.  As well, she taught me how to write an essay in Chicago style citation. That essay was no picnic to write either. I have discovered that I am no historian. However, I was happy to grow  from her  class and am excited to have completed her second semester.  

The class I took was Texas Government or GOVT 2306. I found it to be engaging and I learned a lot about Texas specifically. I really enjoyed this textbook and took lots of notes. However, my poor professor was met with many unforeseen hardships. Falling down the stairs, getting the flu, losing her mother, etc. For this reason, we had fewer assignments than she would have liked, but I think we all learned what she was trying to teach us.

This particular class was online. I think that was what gave me some motivation. I had to check it more often to see if it would change suddenly. While the classload was relatively light. The reading was beyond informative. I got to learn a lot about diet and exercise in a very manageable way. As far as online Physical Education goes, I fully enjoyed this class and got the best out of it. And yes, I did do all my workouts. ;)

My Experience taking Learning Framework   At the beginning of this semester I was excited to take EDUC 1300. I had never taken a class that taught me how to study. However, this class was more than that. This class taught me how to take better notes. It taught me how to prep for tests. One thing it didn’t teach me was how to plan. I have been an avid planner for almost four years now. Although it was one of my favorite lecture topics and assignments. Most of the assignments had me reflect on myself. This was incredibly helpful in discovering how I learn. Overall, I found the class engaging.

My Experience taking Federal Government   I had previously had a terrible experience in a high school government class. I was terrified that this class was going to be even worse. I was pleasantly surprised. My professor was well-spoken and told many stories. His stories were usually related to his past college experience or his time teaching at a university. His specialty is comparative politics which enhanced my learning experience. I felt like I was learning more than government, like I was learning about college and careers too. I could even compare the experience like talking to an uncle. The work was strenuous yet rewarding. By the time I finished the class, I was surprised to learn that I didn’t know everything about the government prior to entering his classroom. I was deeply changed by my experience and thankful for it.
