I have lived in Texas all my life. I grew up in Little Elm during my primary school years and my parents later got separated. Into adulthood, I decided to take a year off and got married instead of starting college. I was delayed another year by the birth of my daughter Katrina. Sixth months later, my husband died, delaying me yet another year.
While my birth name is Summer, I tend to go by Hazel around my friends. Ever since I was little, I would make up new names for myself. It seems that I am often looking to take on a new identity in order to discover what it means to be me. I have explored many avenues on my journey and have decided to adopt a few.
My family all identify as Christian, and while I did for a long time as well, I find that I better identify with paganism. Paganism aids the process of self-discovery very well due to its varied beliefs. These varied beliefs can be wholly believed, picked through, or even thrown out completely in order to meet the needs of an individual. Being on this journey has grown my love of knowledge.
Another avenue is planning or bullet journaling, which is where one writes down everything one needs to do and any events going on in one’s life. I found that there is a whole community surrounding this hobby and that it can be a wonderfully creative outlet. I even went to a planner’s convention this past spring.
College is just another avenue I am taking to see who I really am. I am excited to learn and develop different skills from all my classes this semester. I also hope to be a beacon to my classmates as they seem under-enthusiastic, and I would hate for them to squander this opportunity.

I have been in a committed relationship with an engineer for a little over a year. I have a big family that lives in the area that I see on a usual basis. I go to a church every Sunday where I have made most of my personal friends.Work
